Men's Invitation: President's Salvers - Round 2 & Hindhead Tigers (4BBB) Rules

TERMS OF COMPETITION FOR THE 2019 HINDHEAD GOLF CLUB MEN’S INVITATION FOR THE PRESIDENT’S SALVERS & THE HINDHEAD TIGERS (“THE 2019 MEN’S INVITATION”)

1. FORMATS: The President’s Salvers will be decided over two rounds of 18 holes of Stableford Greensomes, followed by 18 holes of Stableford Betterball in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A Rules Limited; the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by the R&A Rules Limited; any the Local Rules of the course as approved by the Committee of Hindhead Golf Club. Play will be from the white tees.
The Hindhead Tigers will be decided over one round of 18 holes of Stableford Betterball in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A Rules Limited; the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by the R&A Rules Limited; any the Local Rules of the course as approved by the Committee of Hindhead Golf Club. Play will be from the white tees.
2. HANDICAP ALLOWANCES: For Stableford Greensomes: 60% of the lower handicap plus 40% of the higher handicap. For Stableford Betterball: 90% of handicap for each player
3. ELIGIBILITY: The 2019 Men’s Invitation is open to gentleman pairs, one, who must be a Full or Intermediate Member of Hindhead Golf Club, the other, that Member’s guest. Both players must conform to the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by the R&A Rules Limited. All entrants must have a competitive handicap to a maximum of 28 in order to win a prize.
4. ENTRY: Entry to the 2019 Men’s Invitation must be made by completing the Entry Form (either hard copy or online) and accompanying with the appropriate payment to the Club Secretary, Hindhead Golf Club Limited, Churt Road, Hindhead, Surrey, GU26 6HX and must be received by 8:00 on 7th May 2019.
The entry fees includes for The President’s Salvers: two rounds of golf in the competition format, coffee and bacon roll on arrival, a light lunch, a two course dinner after the completion of play, and prizes; and for The Hindhead Tigers: one round of golf in the competition format, coffee on arrival, a two course dinner after the completion of play, and prizes.
Total numbers for the day are limited to 44 pairs and are accepted upon receipt. Any unsuccessful entrants will be placed on a reserve list and have their payment returned if they do not play. No refunds will be given after the draw has been made, unless substitutes can be found.
5. STARTING TIMES: Play will commence at 8.00am & 1.00pm for The President’s Salvers and from 12.20pm for The Hindhead Tigers. Starting times at intervals of ten minutes will be allocated to players in advance of the competition and the competitors will be advised of these starting times in advance via email and on the Club’s website. Play will commence from both the first and tenth tees in both the morning and afternoon.
6. TIES: In the event of ties, results shall be determined by scorecard countback, with the best Stableford score over last 18 holes (for the President’s Salver only), 9 holes, 6 holes, 3 holes, final hole. If pairs can still not be separated the prizes shall be shared.
7. PRIZES: Whilst a pair may win both the trophies, they may not win more than one prize. Prizes will be awarded as follows:
The President’s Salvers: 1st, 2nd & 3rd for the 36-hole total of Greensomes & Betterball; and 1st & 2nd for the 18-holes of Greensomes.
The Hindhead Tigers: 1st, 2nd & 3rd for the 18-hole Betterball.
8. GOLF BUGGIES: Buggies permitted for use at Hindhead Golf Club are one-person ride-on buggies only; the use of two man buggies is not permitted. Neither may the one-person buggies be used by those who do not meet the medical criteria. The safety of everyone using the Club’s facilities is of paramount importance and no one, Member, guest or visitor, may use a ride-on buggy at the Club until they have completed the required documentation and gained the written approval of the Club Secretary. Golf buggies are not available for hire.
9. LOCAL RULES: The Local Rules applicable are as printed on the score card. Any changes from and additions to these Local Rules will be notified on the day of competition.
10. DRESS CODE: Smart casual attire is required in the dining room. This may include golf attire at lunch time, but for dinner Members and their Guests are requested to change out of their golfing attire. Golf shoes are not permitted on the first floor.
11. COMMITTEE: The 2019 Men’s Invitation is organised by the Committee of Hindhead Golf Club, which will rule on any dispute which may arise and its decision shall be final.
