Mixed Invitation (9.00am Shotgun Start) Rules

TERMS OF COMPETITION FOR THE 2019 HINDHEAD GOLF CLUB MIXED INVITATION (“THE 2019 MIXED INVITATION”)

1. FORMAT: The 2019 Mixed Invitation will be played over 18 holes of Mixed Team Stableford with the Best 2 Scores on Each Hole to Count, from the Yellow & Red Tees and Cards in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A Rules Limited; the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by the R&A Rules Limited; any the Local Rules of the course as approved by the Committee of Hindhead Golf Club.
2. HANDICAP ALLOWANCES: 90% of playing handicap.
3. ELIGIBILITY: The 2019 Mixed Invitation is open to mixed pairs of one Hindhead Member (m/f) and one Guest (m/f) or mixed teams, made up of two Hindhead Members (m/f) and two Guests (m/f). Pairings and teams must have an equal number of Ladies and Gentlemen. All players must conform to the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by the R&A Rules Limited. All entrants must have a competitive handicap to a maximum of 28 for men and 36 for ladies to be eligible to win a prize.
4. ENTRY: Entry to the 2019 Mixed Invitation must be made by either entering and paying online at www.hindheadgolfclub.co.uk or by completing the hard copy Entry Form and sending that, along with the appropriate payment to the Club Secretary, Hindhead Golf Club, Churt Road, Hindhead, Surrey, GU26 6HX and must be received by 08:00 on 7th May 2019. Entries are limited to a total 60 players and are accepted upon receipt. Any unsuccessful entrants will be placed on a reserve list and have their payment returned if they do not play. No refunds will be given after the draw has been made, unless substitutes can be found.
5. STARTING TIMES: Play will commence at 8.45am. Starting times at intervals of ten minutes will be allocated to players in advance of the competition and the competitors will be advised of these starting times in advance via email and on the Club’s website. Play will commence as required from 2 to 3 tees.
6. PRIZES: Will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. There will be nearest the pin competitions on the 6th and 15th holes.
7. TIES: In the event of ties, results shall be determined by the best Stableford score over last 9 holes, 6 holes, 3 holes, final hole (on the scorecard). If teams can still not be separated then prizes shall be shared.
8. GOLF BUGGIES: Buggies permitted for use at Hindhead Golf Club are one-person ride-on buggies only; the use of two man buggies is not permitted. Neither may the one-person buggies be used by those who do not meet the medical criteria. The safety of everyone using the Club’s facilities is of paramount importance and no one, Member, guest or visitor, may use a ride-on buggy at the Club until they have completed the required documentation and gained the written approval of the Club Secretary. Golf buggies are not available for hire.
9. LOCAL RULES: The Local Rules applicable are as printed on the score card. Any changes from and additions to these Local Rules will be notified on the day of competition.
10. DRESS CODE: Smart casual attire is required in the dining room and Members and their Guests are requested to change out of their golfing attire for lunch. Golf shoes are not permitted on the first floor.
11. COMMITTEE: The 2019 Mixed Invitation is organised by the Committee of Hindhead Golf Club, which will rule on any dispute which may arise and its decision shall be final.
